Pula is the largest city in Istria county. It is known for its many surviving ancient Roman buildings, (its 1st century amphitheatre, among the six largest Roman arenas in the world, the Temple of Augustus situated in the Forum, is dedicated to goddess Roma and Emperor Augustus.). Nearby is Brijuni national park.
