About this port

Less than 400 metres in diameter and located 2 km east from the island of Ventotene, this pretty seaside resort is the main town of the peninsula of Monte Argentario and the embarkation point for boat trips to the island of Giglio. Like the rest of the archipelago, the island was created by volcanic activity and the town’s houses ascend the hillside on either side of its 17C Aragonese fortress, the Rocca, which offers fine views of the harbour, Porto Del Valle and Gulf of Talamone. The island is in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the west coast of Italy.
