Zadar , the capital city of Dalmatia, located in the heart of the Adriatic, is surrounded by historical remparts (Citadel built in 1409). Zadar is chocked full of monuments ( most notably St. Donat’s church, one of the best preserved pre-Romanesque buildings in the world) including the Roman Forum.
